Undo Check Out

Allow you to undo the checked out database item(s) that you have previously checked out. You can’t undo check out on database item(s) that was/were checked out by others. As the name suggested, the undo check out operation just undoes the check out operation. Please note, the undo check out only occurs in the Visual SourceSafe repository but not in SQL Server. The modification of database item(s) on SQL Server during the Check Out operation will not be undone. If you want to undo the change to SQL Server, do the “Undo Check Out” operation first, then do the “ Get Latest Version” operation.

To do the Undo Check Out operation, you can:

• Highlight the item(s) or folder(s) that you have check out from the SourceSafe Pane, right click on the selected item(s), select Undo Check Out from the context menu; or
• Highlight the item(s) or folder(s) that you want to check out from the SourceSafe Pane, select SourceSafe | Undo Check Out from the main menu.
• You will see the status of undo check out operation in the message pane.
  

The Undo Check Out operation can be applied to an individual database item, multiple database items, or a folder that is either a database category or the entire project. When a folder is selected, the check in operation is applied to all database items under the folder.
