Compare Database/Database Category

You can compare the latest version in Visual SourceSafe and the current code in SQL Server database for a folder. All database items under the folder that is either a database category or the entire project will be compared.

 

To compare the folder in SourceSafe and in SQL Server Database, you can:

• Right click on the folder in the SourceSafe Pane, then select Show Differences from the context menu; or
• Highlight the folder in the SourceSafe Pane, then select SourceSafe/Show Differences from the main menu

You can select one or more items on the screen by highlighting them. After selecting the item(s), you can right click the highlighted items and make selection on the options on the context menu or click the button on the tool bar.

At the context menu and tool bar as shown in Figure 2, you can do:
