About this release

SQLSourceSafe 3.0 is a major release with significant enhancements over previous 2.x releases. It claims a new full-power syntax colored editor that makes SQL editting and troubleshooting a more pleasant experience. It also provides full support for unicode, should it be the database schema definition or the application data.

Changes from release 2.1 to release 2.2

• Adoption of a new full-power syntax colored editor to view and edit database objects. The editor will display all SQL keywords in colors, indent and format the SQL script nicely, place, go to, or remove bookmarks for a particular script line, and improve the print-preview functionality.
• SQLSourceSafe 3.0’s powerful editor also provides intelligent prompts for SQL script’s editing. Based on the context, it automatically lists all possible SQL texts (e.g. table column names, or SQL keywords) to let the user to choose.
• Support for database schema specified in unicode format.
• Support for application data specified in unicode format.
• Table’s primary keys can be set in SQLSourceSafe 3.0’s table editor.
• Addition of menu item of “Recent Files” under File menu, to manage/retrieve connection configuration files.

Who needs this upgrade?

• Release 3.0 is a function-enhancement release without critical fix. All users using SQLSourceSafe are recommended to use the new release, though it is not mandatory.
