Selecting Database Items to Compare

Selecting Database Items to Compare

There are two methods to select database items to compare.  One is to select database items on both panels.  Another one is to select one database item on one side and right click it to select the same object on the other side.

Method 1: When two comparing databases are selected, you can select the two comparing SQL objects.  You can:

Method 2: Select one SQL object on one side of the panel and right click the object.  A context menu “Search same object on other side” will show up. By selecting the menu option will the program will look for the same object on the other side.  If same object is found, the object will be selected and highlighted.  Otherwise, a message box will show up to prompt you synchronize the two objects as shown in Figure 3.

The Refresh button will reload the database information. This will update both database names in the database name drop down list, and all database objects for the selected database in both panes.

After the refresh operation, the application resets the object selection - the previously selection is gone. User needs to re-select an object type or an individual object to perform a DB schema comparison.
