Comparing Individual Database Items


Comparing two individual objects will provide the details of differences between the two objects. The SQL objects must be in the same type, but not necessarily to be in the same name.

 

Select the Object to Compare


The first step is to select the individual database object as the comparing objects:

If the two selected objects have different types, the system will pop up a message for the error.

View Comparison Result


If the two objects have the same type but different in the script/structure, the result will be displayed in the Show Difference window. Added, deleted and changed lines are in displayed in different background colors (see Figure 3).

 

If the structures of two objects are the same, a message window will pop up informing users they are identical. For tables, in addition to table structure, the number of records is compared (see Figure 4 and 5).
