SQLSourceSafe 2.2 Release Notes

About this release

SQLSourceSafe 2.2 is an upgrade release from version 2.1. It improves the object difference comparison function for SQL Server database objects.

Changes from release 2.1 to release 2.2

• Improved algorithm to compare database objects. Differences in white spaces, such as tab, new line, and space, are ignored if those are the only differences between the compared objects.
• Enhanced display and management of comparison results when comparing database and database category (e.g. tables, views, stored procedures, and user defined functions). The new release lists every database object in a grid format with different color schema that easily shows whether the object is the same, modified, removed, or added.
• Help file changes for the enhanced object difference comparison function.

Who needs this upgrade?

• Release 2.2 is a function-enhancement release without critical fix. All users using SQLSourceSafe are recommended to use the new release, though it is not mandatory.

How to obtain this upgrade?

• For trial version users, please go to here to download SQLSourceSafe 2.2 trial version.
